About Me

Hey there I’m the Happy Travel Bee, the face behind this wanderlust-fuelled blog. My passion for exploration knows no bounds, and I want to travel to as many places in the world as I can and enjoy as many experiences as possible!

I work as a teacher and travel during my school holidays. This gives me lots of flexibility and a lot of time to enjoy doing what I love most! I love to plan my holidays in detail; I’m a spreadsheet person. I constantly have too many tabs open looking at flights, hotels and other blogs for inspiration.

I wanted to put together a blog about my experiences as a personal account for me but also to help fellow travellers with inspiration, itineraries and tips I’ve learned on my journeys.

Here are a few reasons why I love to travel…

Beaches & Sunsets

Beaches hold a special place in my heart. There’s something about the crashing of waves, the warmth of the sun on my skin, and the incredible colours that dance across the sky during sunset that makes my soul sing. Whether it’s the pristine beaches in the Philippines or the hidden gems of Thailand, I’m happiest with sand between my toes and salt in my hair.

Watching sunsets has a special place in my heart and I love to find the best spots with the perfect view. I don’t live in an area where the sunsets are visible every day so when I travel, I’m keen to enjoy as many as I can!

Mountains

I’m equally in love with the mountains and the thrill of snowy slopes. From hiking (or usually climbing slowly and panting) through lush forests to summiting high peaks, there’s a sense of exhilaration and freedom that comes with being surrounded by nature.

Food

Of course, no journey is complete without indulging in the local cuisine. From sampling street food delicacies to dining in amazing restaurants, I believe that food is a gateway to understanding and appreciating different cultures. Whether it’s feasting on fresh seafood in Greece, savouring spicy curries in India, or indulging in mouth-watering pastries in France, I’m always on the hunt for my next culinary adventure.

Activities & Experiences

But what truly makes my trips so special to me are the unique experiences I seek out along the way. Whether it’s a safari in Kenya, whale watching in Sri Lanka, or learning the art of tea-making in Taiwan, I thrive on immersing myself in the richness and diversity of the world.

Through my blog, I aim to inspire others to embrace the spirit of adventure, step out of their comfort zones, and create memories that will last a lifetime. So come along with me on this journey of discovery, and together, let’s explore the beauty and wonder of our incredible world.
